GetDeb – Software for Ubuntu Linux

GetDeb extends the existing software options for Ubuntu (and derived) Linux distributions by providing major updates and software not yet available on the official Ubuntu repositories.

My opinion if u are trying ubuntu for the first time, apart from synaptic, this is the other place where u will find applications for ur newly installed version of Ubuntu or any of its flavors. Love it.
